Open Educational Resources, or OER, refer to any teaching and learning materials that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open licence, such as a Creative Commons Licence or GNU General Public Licence, that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution with no or limited restrictions.
There is a growing body of OER content developed specifically for education students to use while pursuing their teaching degree. Browse the resources below and check out the library's OER guide for more information on searching OER repositories and finding additional types of open content.
Use words like "teach," "teaching," or "pre-service" coupled with the specific subject area of education you want to find resources for. Most OER repositories will have a sidebar filter for subjects, too. Select "Education" and additional subject areas of education in these as well to get narrower results.
