YOU DON’T SEE PEOPLE AT THEIR BEST IN THIS JOB -Death
Prolific novelist Terry Pratchett left the world ten years ago on March 12, 2015, but his works continue to thrive. Spanning forty one novels, the Discworld series chronicles the many adventures of the residents of Discworld - a flat world on the backs of four elephants who stand on the back of a giant, space traveling turtle.
Follow the adventures of the hapless wizard Rincewind, the less hapless witch Granny Weatherwax, the vigilant city watchman Sam Vimes, or the ever present Death. Marvel at the sights of Ankh-Morpork and maybe even enter the library of the Unseen University and meet the librarian, who bears more than a passing resemblance to an orangutan.
Discworld is not the only famous Pratchett creation. He is also the co-author of Good Omens, a biblical satire about an angel, a demon, and a misplaced AntiChrist. The book became the basis of a two season Amazon Prime series.
Good Omens, twenty eight Discworld novels, and a few other Pratchett works are available in the JCK Library Libby/OverDrive collection. You can download the ebooks to your device with just a few clicks.
