Welcome back, Mules and Jennies! Whether this is your first time on campus, you are returning after an absence, or you have been here all along, we are glad to welcome you to the fall semester.

JCKL is open for use with regular hours of operation starting on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Read on for some important things to know this semester.

Community standards

Effective August 16, 2021 you must wear a face mask while in campus buildings, including the James C. Kirkpatrick Library. This requirement is part of UCM's guidelines. If you forget your mask a limited supply will be available in the library at the Client Services Desk for those who need one. You'll also find hand sanitizer stations in various locations throughout the building. Masks are not required while actively eating or drinking.

Thanks for doing your part to keep all Mules and Jennies safe!

Course reserves

Most course reserves will be online. However, there are some course reserve materials located behind the Client Services Desk. We ask that these items be kept in the Client Services area and the indicated duration of use is respected. Check with your instructor or contact JCKL to locate reserves for your classes.

Booking is back! Guarantee your study space by booking an individual or group study room via the online reservation system. Priority goes to people with reservations.

Technology and printing

Computers and printers are available on all three floors of JCKL. Visit the 3rd floor computer lab in JCKL 3160 for computers with a wide array of software needed for your research, design, and multimedia projects. Remember to download the Wepa app to print at any of the Wepa stations located around campus.

Library collections

During the pandemic, JCKL expanded online collections. Visit new databases such as Vogue Archives, Black Studies Center, Disability in the Modern World, and Human Right Studies Online. You'll find nearly everything by searching the JCKL catalog

Many publishers opened electronic books and journals on an emergency basis during the pandemic. These agreements have ended. We can still help! Try Interlibrary borrowing or contact JCKL to see if there are other ways to get what you need.

When you borrow materials, be sure to try the self-checkout station!
