The library has access to nearly 30,000 videos that are not available on Netflix or any other streaming video platform, completely advertisement-free! Kanopy provides a wide variety of streaming movies, documentaries, foreign films, and educational films, including the Criterion Collection and Great Courses.
With built-in citation tools for APA, MLA, Chicago, and Harvard, Kanopy provides a robust avenue to use film in scholarly works. Kanopy enables professors to have access to the films students need for their coursework and research across all subject areas. All films can be shown in class and instructors can also create mandatory or suggested video playlists for clips or entire films for students to watch on their own time from on or off-campus.
Instructors can also create playlists and clips which can be shared or embedded into Blackboard. Kanopy films can be streamed through several services such as AppleTV and ROKU.
Kanopy continues to add videos in a wide range of subject areas.
