The Music Periodicals Database indexes over 600 journals and provides full text access to approximately 220 periodicals. The Performing Arts Periodicals Database covers theatre, dance, television, stagecraft, storytelling, puppetry, circus performance and more in over 400 scholarly and trade journals, newspapers, and books. Many sources are available in full text, and selective backfiles go back to 1864.
Sources range from urban pop to Chinese opera; blues to classical symphony; and music technology to Andean pipe music. You can find reviews of Broadway musicals, art exhibitions, and musical performances. Sample titles include Women and Music and Journal of Sound and Music in Games. There are currently about two million records, and content is continuously updated to reflect the latest trends performing trends and scholarship. Easily filter results to full text, scholarly articles, or newspapers.
