Student Book Club

Are you a reader looking for your community? Join our lively Student Book Club, Get the Read Out! All undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join the monthly, in-person meeting. Each month, we pick a theme to guide our reading: books within a genre, like romance or horror, read-whatever-you-like, or everyone reading the same book as a group. The library faculty mentor for the group, Sara Evans, will share practical tips for finding books in the James C. Kirkpatrick Library stacks, in ebook databases, or for free through local public libraries. Then, you have until the next meeting to read (or DNF - did not finish) the book and come back to share what you loved, hated, or wondered about it. This is an open-minded group where we respect each other’s preferences and help to build awareness of authors, books, or themes in literature.

This group meets once per month on the last Monday at 6:30pm in the second floor of the library, room 2441. Check out our page on UCM’s Central Connect to join and find out about the next meeting details.

For information about participating in the Student Book Club, contact faculty mentor at saraevans@ucmo.edu.
