Oxford Art Online’s single search box makes it easy to search sources from several acclaimed reference works on art, such as Grove Dictionary of Art, Benezit Dictionary of Artists, Oxford Companion to Western ArtConcise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms and  the 2nd edition of Encyclopedia of Aesthetics. Included are links to over 40,000 works of art, architecture, and plans. Thousands of scholars and specialists from around the world contributed to Oxford Art Online, and many of their peer reviewed articles include supporting materials such  as links to related resources and bibliographies.

Advanced search options limit results by city/country, artistic period,  geographic region, specific medium or even a life event such as baptism or death. There are timelines of world art, collection guides, podcasts, and pronunciation guides and educational resources include Italian Renaissance Learning Resources and MOMA /Grove Art Resources for Educators. The latest revision has  updated and expanded coverage of Latin American art and architecture. Guides to museums from around the world are also available and all articles can be saved, printed or shared.
