Open Education Resources (OER)

Provides an introduction to open access and open education resources with emphasis on open textbooks.

Definitions for Open Educational Resources

Content that is openly (freely) available.

License (or copyright) allows copying, distribution, and modification of the content.  

OER content is usually offered online and users have the option to read, download, or print with no additional cost.  

Some providers offer print copies for an additional fee (usually $25 - $30 dollars).  Some users prefer this option to reading online or printing on their own.
