How to Add Websites

The citation information cannot be automatically detected by Zotero for webpages.  However, you can still add them to your Zotero library.

First, click the Zotero icon at the bottom of your web browser.

Once your Zotero Library is open, click on the add page icon and a copy of the web page contents will be saved to your library.

With webpages you can type the citation information into the Info tab, once you have added the webpage.

How to Add Other Non-Digital Items

Non-Digital items like word documents, artwork, podcasts, manuscripts, videos, and many other types of items can be added to your Zotero library.  Zotero treats these types of items similar to web pages, where the citation information is not automatically collected.  You will have to type any needed citation information.

To add a non-digital item:

Then, choose the type of item you would like to add to your library.

Once you have added the new item, use the Info tab on the right, to manually add citation information.
